- Copernicus II
-
- Allows users to communicate with a BBS that uses the Fidonet protocol
- Macintosh Plus or larger; hard disk drive; Hayes or compatible modem.
-
- Copernicus is point software that operates on the Macintosh. It is a set of
- programs that allows users to communicate with a BBS that uses the Fidonet
- protocol. It works over regular phone lines and provides for the exchange of
- private mail, public messages and files. It is an efficient system for
- transmittal because it often deals with materials that have been compressed, it
- does the bulk of the transmissions during periods of the day when phone rates
- are cheapest and it uses a very efficient communications protocol. After a
- calling session, Copernicus processes all of the incoming materials, leaving
- the system ready for the Copernicus user to post/reply/read/send messages on
- its system. Copernicus can handle either Groupmail or Echomail.
